We found out yesterday that we can’t lay you to rest and scatter your ashes on Cefalu as you’d hoped and planned. I’m absolutely devastated. I feel like I’ve failed on your final wish mum. I’m so sorry. If there was a way of snuggling you in, I would. But I can’t run the risk of getting stopped in Palermo and they confiscate your ashes because we don’t have a permit!!
I truly feel gutted. We’ll find another way of laying you to rest and I’ll go back to Sicily to feel close to you.

This candle was first lit on the 15th of May. It was relit on the 5th of December and will burn for 2 more days.
